BK INTERIOR DESIGN —
The details change
when the camera arrives.
Styling · Art Direction · Photography Production · Content
Over several years with BK Interior Design, I worked in the space between a finished room and the image that would eventually represent it — sourcing, styling, arranging, editing, documenting and helping prepare projects for photography.
THE WORK —
The role
began differently.
I joined BK Interior Design to help with project coordination during a period of transition. A few months in, it became clear that my experience might be more valuable somewhere else.
Brad and I began exploring what that could look like. What followed grew naturally — from social and marketing to job sites, editorial opportunities, photography and styling.
The role evolved with the work.
THE SHIFT —
The evolution.
What began with social and marketing brought me closer to the projects themselves — joining site visits and design meetings, documenting work in progress, and finding ways to share the thinking behind it.
From there, the scope widened to editorial outreach, publication opportunities and awards, connecting the work happening inside the studio with a larger audience.
LOOKING BACK —
The best work
leaves room to grow.
BK taught me something I’ve carried into nearly everything since: I do some of my best work when the boundaries aren’t completely settled.
I was surrounded by talented people who cared deeply about what they did — and who gave me the trust to bring my own perspective to the work. That combination of collaboration, confidence and creative freedom allowed the role to become something none of us had quite planned.
It’s still the kind of work I’m drawn to most.
