Maker & Moss
What began as a favorite furniture showroom became years of creative collaboration — across interiors, staging, photography, and everything in between.
BEGINNINGS —
A neighborhood
discovery.
When I was living part-time in Hayes Valley, I spent a lot of time wandering Hayes Street. That's how I discovered Maker & Moss.
The showroom had a point of view I immediately connected with — modern, masculine, thoughtfully curated, and somewhere between San Francisco sophistication and Sonoma County ease.
I loved the furniture, the materials, and the way everything felt considered without feeling precious. Eventually, I met Matt, the owner, socially. We hit it off.
A chance encounter at Las Vegas Market, where we were both shopping for furniture, turned that friendship into a conversation about working together.
Sometimes the best opportunities begin without a plan.
THE SHOWROOM —
A distinct
point of view.
Maker & Moss was more than a place to shop for furniture. It was a carefully curated collection of pieces that felt interesting, approachable, and made to live with.
Matt had a wonderful eye for furniture, materials, and the unexpected details that make a space feel collected rather than decorated.
I began sourcing pieces from the showroom for my own clients, while helping with material selections, mood boards, and interior design projects that came through Maker & Moss. It was a natural fit.
We shared an appreciation for spaces that felt like something.
A SHARED POINT OF VIEW —
Better
together.
A few years into working together, our collaboration had grown well beyond sourcing furniture.
Matt brought his distinctive perspective and collection. I brought my experience in design, styling, installation, and photography.
Together, we helped bring rooms to life — considering everything from furniture and lighting to the smallest finishing details.
We developed an easy creative rhythm, each bringing something different to the table.
The work was better because it was shared.
THE EVOLUTION —
From showroom
to so much
more.
Eventually, real estate agents and developers began approaching Maker & Moss to furnish homes for sale.
With my background in staging, it opened an entirely new chapter of our partnership.
Together, we furnished dozens of properties throughout San Francisco, Marin County, the East Bay, and the Peninsula — combining pieces from Maker & Moss with furnishings I sourced for each space.
We installed, styled, photographed, and moved on to the next.
Along the way, our collaboration grew to include residential design, showroom merchandising, photography, and marketing.
What began with a shared appreciation for furniture became a creative partnership that took many different forms.
And looking back, it was never just about the furniture.
